Colin Barclay was born in the Hudson River Valley of New York, where the subtleties of changing light on the countryside and the art of the Hudson River School masters inspired his first work. Since then, his primary artistic focus has been to capture on canvas the nuances of landscapes transformed by day and night, fog and light. He now lives in Downeast Coastal Maine, which offers the perfect environment for him to create his ethereal landscapes. His oil paintings reflect the beauty and drama of nature in moody swaths of hazy light and dreamy fading views of marshlands and water. Colin studied at Tulane University and Fleischer Academy and his paintings are in many private art collections including several in Maine and New York.
