Ragna Bruno was born in Spain to a home filled with music, art, and artists. Art was her earliest recollection and passion; Ragna studied art and art history in Switzerland and London, and traveled to India, Mexico, South America and throughout Europe - finding inspiration and fine-tuning her talent as a painter and sculptor. She married Werner Torkanowsky in 1975, made her home in Maine and filled it with music, art and artists. Her paintings incorporate bold and yet subtle hues to communicate her love of nature as art itself. Ragna Bruno’s clay sculptures convey the past - the past of Woman as vessel, goddess, and dreams. Her work can be found internationally in public and private collections and Maine art galleries.
